We can also scan your hard copy, or you can submit files on CD, floppy, or Zip disk. Rapids Reproductions has many options for scanning , mounting, laminating, and finishing . Large digital color output is great for posters, backlit signs, film, banners, display exhibits, or floor graphics.

Rapids Reproductions has the ability to scan your color or monochrome documents from a snapshot up to 36" wide. We can make multiple copies, enlarge or reduce, or create a digital archive of your paper originals. Depending on the end use of the document, we can scan from 72 dpi (good for the Web) up to 1200 dpi for a photograph or 400 dpi for line drawings.

Our image capture services utilize a combination of interactive and automated scanning procedures, providing you with the best balance of quality, speed and cost. As your needs and information systems grow and change, data existing on a particular medium or in a specific format may need converted onto disk or CD, which is also a great way to archive.

Rapids Reproductions, Inc. will create accurate indexes to match the images. Rapids will build an index database for each image, allowing the end user to quickly and easily retrieve the required images. We can index from images, or customer-provided spreadsheets to match files.

Your images can be polished off with expert mounting and laminating services from our finishing department. Rapids Reproductions offers a wide variety of mounting substrates, from chipboard to gator board. Enhance and protect your prints with mounting and lamination. These services ensure that your prints are durable and protected from the elements, and that they have that professional appeal.

You can have your prints just laminated or just mounted. They can be laminated on just the front, or they can be laminated on both sides with an edge seal to ensure encapsulation and complete protection from the elements.

Rapids laminates with a heat and pressure process, which permanently seals a clear sheet of polyester film with a glossy, lustre or matte finish to all types of paper or dry mounted prints. We can laminate up to 55" in width by any manageable length. Laminating allows surfaces to be wiped clean and renders work resistant to moisture. We can also place an easel backing on your mounted prints for presentation.

Diazo Prints --All prints reproduced in the diazo department use paper materials that are light sensitive and are developed with ammonia. Original drawings must be translucent, so light can pass through and onto the chemically treated paper. Prints can also be stapled or bound upon request. Diazo prints have a tendency to experience color shifts when exposed to light over long periods, causing them to yellow, which in some cases causes reduced legibility.

If you have digital originals, but prefer blueline prints, you may still send your electronic originals and we will produce a high quality vellum and print on traditional blueline paper. You can send your files via e-mail or upload them on our FTP site.

Digital Archiving -- Rapids can help you convert paper-based systems to highly efficient and cost-effective electronic document management systems. We can help you move from paper to digital with ease. No more misplaced or torn drawings. Prints from disk will be the first generation, not the second, third, or fourth. We can scan your drawings at 400 dpi and provide you with an archival CD that will last for decades without any loss of quality. Rapids can scan your hard copies up to 36" in width and store them onto CD or Zip disk for you. Whether it be color or black and white, you will have your image at a click of a button to print when needed or make changes as required.
